Hong Kong Maritime Week 2025 – 18 November 2025
The Marine Insurance Club, in collaboration with Watson Farley & Williams LLP, successfully
hosted a seminar on Container Fire Incidents: Claims Handling & Loss Prevention during Hong
Kong Maritime Week 2025.
Held on 18 November 2025 in hybrid format at Jardine House and online, the seminar attracted
an excellent turnout of 80+ participants — with around 50 attending in person and 35 joining
virtually.
Programme Overview
Session 1: Panel Discussion on Claims Handling
Moderated by Mr. Derek Shum, our Vice Chairman, the panel featured distinguished industry
experts:

Mr. Sean Song, UK P&I Club, delivered an informative presentation on proactive measures to
mitigate risks of container fire incidents, emphasizing prevention as a cornerstone of maritime
safety.
